State of Texas Mexico Office

The State of Texas Mexico Office (STMO) operates under the Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office, within the Office of the Governor. The STMO's mission is to promote Texas exports into Mexico and to attract direct foreign investment into Texas. The STMO was first established in 1971 and today has a presence in Mexico City and in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon.

Mexico & Texas Trade Profile

Why Texas? Texas is the #1 destination in the U.S. for foreign direct capital investment over the last two decades. “Made in Texas” has never been a more powerful global brand as we remain the top state for exports for the last 23 years in a row. Not to mention, Texas has been named the Best State for Business in the U.S. for 20 straight years. Texas is the 8th-largest when compared to nations of the world, with a USD $2.6 trillion economy. Texas is bigger and better for business. This is thanks to our friendly business climate, highly skilled and diverse workforce, lower operating costs, robust infrastructure and strategic central geographic location with easy access to global markets, coupled with an exceptional quality of life. Come see how Texas can work for you!
