Business Climate

Texas offers companies of all sizes and all industries one of the best business climates in the nation, with a fair, transparent tax and regulatory structure designed for businesses to succeed. The Lone Star State is committed to upholding its position as the Best State for Business and Best Business Climate in the nation.

With no corporate or personal income tax, companies doing business in Texas enjoy one of the lowest overall tax burdens in the country. In addition, Texas offers lower business operating cost when compared to other U.S. states.

Powered by more than 50 Fortune 500 companies, thousands of publicly traded companies and more than 3.3 million small businesses, as well as and a diverse, skilled workforce of more than 15.5 million, the Texas economy is the 8th largest when compared to the nations of the world.

Not to mention, Texas offers one of the most robust incentive program portfolios, including the most competitive deal-closing fund in the nation—the Texas Enterprise Fund.

That's why Texas attracts more corporate relocations and expansions than any other state—winning the Governor's Cup for the past 13 years in a row—and is the top state in the U.S. for foreign direct investment over the last two decades.

Texas prides itself on being a right-to-work state, and will continue to make strategic investments to ensure it maintains our competitive advantage, allowing businesses to prosper and grow.
